To my younger self,

I had forgotten my password and the existence of this place. I had forgotten how vulnerable I was while I was active on here. Reading such posts time and time again made me realize how much I had been through, and my thinking process was much different then.

I wanted to tell you that I read almost every single post written by you. You had a way with words, and your emotions were something you had not fully grasped in order to maintain sanity for yourself. You always felt like you had to sound a certain way in order to get your message across because you felt unheard. You always looked for some sort of resort to jot them down rather than thinking about the issue at hand. And I wanted to remind you… that’s okay. You didn’t know better then. You wanted to share the love you had with whom you thought was the most important person in your life to the world. Because at that time, you poured out all the love you could, and you wanted everyone to know. You also beat yourself up with your words because you were conditioned that way. You still are, but you’ve gotten so much better. I am here to tell you that there is so much more to you.

You’re going to discover a lot of things about yourself and meet new people that wouldn’t expect to come upon your life. You’re going to cry a lot. You’re going to see how difficult the dating scene has been and how much it has changed since that person. You’re going to have a tough time in college. You’re going to have to take a step back and face your problems as the reality they are, as much as you don’t want to. You’re going to self-reflect, and look into your past to see why you are the way you are. And even if you feel the lowest of the lows, you’re going to pick yourself back up and be the best version you can be. Because that is what you always do.

You will always find a way. And with that way, you’re going to find clarity within yourself. You’re going to find friends that will last a lifetime. You’re going to find comfort in your own skin. You’ll realize that you really do know what you want. You’re going to have dreams and goals bigger than ever before. And more importantly, you’re going to find love - one that you hadn’t experienced yet because like I said.. you didn’t know better. And you’re going to love the hell out of it. Because it’s the kind you’ve always yearned for.

You’ve come a long way, kiddo. And you have plenty more to go. What you had written then is not the end of the world. You have so much going for you. Keep dreaming, believing, and loving yourself.
